0.96.5: A folder is deleted instead of selected files

XnView: MP 0.96.5 - 64-bit
OS: Windows 10 - 64-bit
Effect: Sometimes, XnView deletes the selected folder in the Folder pane instead of the selected files in the Thumbnails pane.
If you press CTRL+A on a folder selected in the Folders pane, the files are correctly selected but not activated (focused). The folder stays focused and this has some serious consequences. For example, if you then press DEL to delete the selected files, the folder will be deleted instead of the files. This is not expected.
This happened to me several times and I had to recover some mistakenly deleted sub-folders from the recycle bin. The last time my bin was full so I lost some files for good.
The solution seems to be simple, just activate (set focus) the selected files after CTRL+A. This is how Windows file explorer and other applications work.
To reproduce:
1. Browse a folder A with some image files (JPEG format) and with a sub-folder B. The folder A will be focused in the Folders pane.
2. In the Thumbnails pane, the JPEG files are shown. The sub-folder B is not displayed because Folders are set as not Visible in Settings - Browser - File list - Custom filter. And "Custom" is used in View - Filter by.
3. Select all image files by pressing CTRL+A. The image files are correctly selected. But they are not focused, the folder A is still focused, which is wrong.
4. Try to delete the selected files by pressing DEL.
Actual behaviour (bug): XnView deletes the entire focused folder A including the sub-folder B which was not selected.
Expected behaviour: The selected files should be focused in step 3 and deleted in step 4.
