SGI rgb format stopped working in classic after 2.48

Hello, I am still a happy SGI user and xnview for IRIX is my goto always!
I have been saving screenshots on SGI as rgb format and converting them to jpeg, but I have not needed to do so in a while - I did so today to discover xnview classic 2.49 doesn't seem to work - I had to downgrade to xnview classic 2.48 to view/convert those files again
