Same here, I'm glad to know Pierre is taking care of that bug.

Hi there,

I found that my companiion's iPad takes .HEIC fotos now.

I upgraded XnView to 2.49.5 but still these files are not recognized as pictures.
Oddly XnView shows the embedded thumbnails, but cannot open or display these files. XnView opens these files in the windows foto app :(
Also the properties don't show any EXIF data...

I'd like to continue to use XnView with all kind of file formats.

Cheers.

If you use XnView File > Open... on the menu bar the files don't open in XnView?

I too couldn't make the plugin work. My system is 64-bit Windows 10 Pro (21H1). I'm using the current XnView Classic portable 2.50.2 and tried unzipping heif_x32.zip (and heif_x64.zip too, just in case) in the Plugins folder and iPhone HEIC images won't open. The plugin is also not reported in the Info -> Plug-Ins information menu.

Ok, I was doing right-click -> open with -> XnView classic for windows; this simply opens XnView in the folder where the file is. However, doing File -> Open and selecting a HEIC file does display it and I can navigate with Page Up/Down. Still don't see the plugin in the info menu.
