I have xnview mp and cannot get it to update. Currently have 0.96.2, win 10, 64 bits. xnview is in d:drive, my OS is in c:. I have in the past been able to easily update by clicking on the new version and it worked almost automatically with only having to respond to questions. Has something changed?
I tried to download the newest version, it extracted into my download directory and nothing happened. I am afraid to do an install as I don't want to lose my settings. (I have my configurations in ini.) What am i doing wrong? Thank you. Jane

Did you download the portable ZIP version?
If so, to launch the program (which will run independently of any installed version as you wish) you need to open the extracted folder, and then double-click on the xnview.exe file in it, or better create a shortcut to it...

When you wanted to update to the newest version, you seem to have inadvertently downloaded the portable ZIP version. The best solution to your problem is probably to return to the download page and download the 'SETUP' version which is the installer version that you have probably normally used.
