Hi,

I'm missing one feature in the slideshow functionality of MP.
In the classic version, you can navigate the folder of the current-image forward and backward by using the PageUp and PageDown keys.
This works even when setting the slideshow to random mode. This doesn't seem to be available in MP.

I am not sure if I understand.
If I check on the latest versions released, it doesn't work for me. I was also trying out the Beta 3 release and the function is not available.

Maybe a bit more details of what I am doing.
I have quite a huge gallery of pictures with multiple sub in sub folder structures.
My flow is: (using a german version)
Menu --> Erstellen -- Diashow (Create --> Diashow)
On Dateien Tab I am selecting the "Ordner hinzufügen" (add folder) to select my root folder.
Starting the Diashow with click on OK

It doesn't allow me to navigate using the PageUp and PageDown keys.

This works in xnview classic
In classic I am used to use the arrow right left to jump to a random image back and forward. If I want to look through the next image of the same folder the currently display picture is I am using PageDown / PageUp

it's not PgUp/Down but Left/right arrows

I tried the left right arrows. It is only navigating me to the next random image. I am not able to stay in the same folder.

Basically I am starting the Slide Show in Random Picture mode.

In Classic:
left right arrow: jump to a next random picture in any subfolder
PageUP Down: jump to the next picture in the same folder as the currently display picture

In MP:
I tried multiple different keys and it doesn't have the same behaviour. I can only jump back and forward the random picture order

If you have started a slideshow, that uses random order, then "previous/next file" should go to the "previous/next file" of the slideshow.
I.e. the previously shown image in the slideshow, for "previous file", and the file that would be shown next in the slideshow, for "next file".
Hence, I don't see what the problem is, with getting a random picture, when pressing "next file", in a slideshow with random order. (if you get a random file, rather than the previously shown file, with "previous", however, that is clearly wrong)

Do you get a random image, even if the slideshow is not set as random?

No, that is not right.
At least in MP. (I don't know about Classic)
In Settings-Interface-Shortcuts-Viewer Mode, PgUp/PgDown are set to "previous/next file", by default. (this can be changed, however)
Left/right are also set to "previous/next file", by default, in Settings-Interface-Keyboard (again: can be changed), so those keys also have the same function, so it is not wrong to say that left/right are previous/next, but it is wrong to say that PgUp/PgDown aren't.
They are. (as long as one hasn't changed their behaviour)

In Classic, Left/Right arrows go to previous/next random file, and PageDown/Up go to previous/next file in the list
You would like to have same behavior for PgDown/up?

exactly. Or even if you would change the keys I wouldn't mind. Just the same behaviour

I'd say that having keys that go previous/next in the file list, even when you're in random order, is an interesting option to have
…but it should be clarified, that it behaves that way, and probably shouldn't be set as default, but rather exist as an option you can set in the shortcut settings.
