Hello!
Image much smaller than XnView window, Auto Image Size set to No fit. Browser window maximized in XnView workspace.
Maximize View when Open - unchecked.
I Open image:
- it is opened in maximized window, should be not
I use Restore down button and close image.
- now Browse window is also in 'Restored down' state, should be not
Open the image for the second time:
- now it opens OK, in window floating in XnView workspace
BUT if I maximize XnView window beforehand:
- it still opens in maximized window should not
X.

Can't reproduce it, you open the picture by double clicking in the windows explorer?

I think the option 'not to maximize' would typically be used by people who launch pictures from ms explorer (and not use browser). So, this behaviour may not be so unusual.

Ok, but 'Maximize view' can only be used when you have no browser...

Why? It seems this option should define how View window behaves when opened, regardless of how it is opened.
If Maximize view is unchecked, it should be opened in a window inside XnView workspace, with its own titlebar and frame. The exact size of this window would be defined by Auto Size Image.
If not, the View window is maximized in the workspace.
Or the option name should be changed.

Ok, but the problem is that:
I Open image:
- it is opened in maximized window, should be not
I use Restore down button and close image.
- now Browse window is also in 'Restored down' state, should be not
When you restore window, all opened window are restored too!!

OK, if it is some kind of Windows limitation, that's fine. Just seemed unnatural to me, I thought Window->Restore all worked for all windows and restore button just for the current window.

Can be closed, no real problem to fix here.
