Possible to add keyboard shortcuts to increase and decrease image brightness?

Hi,
Is it possible to add keyboard shortcuts to increase and decrease brightness when in Viewer Mode?
In the Settings --> Interface --> Shortcuts --> Viewer Mode list there is no shortcut listed to increase or decrease brightness. But perhaps a shortcut can be manually added to the default.keys file or by some other way.
I have already assigned shortcut keys for the Enhance Colors shortcut which opens the dialog box where the brightness can be altered using a slide bar or a text box.
I think that this was at least once possible because keys to do so are listed in the All Current keyboard Hotkeys & Shortcuts thread (posted in 2006) and on the Viewer Mode Shortcut Keys Wiki page (last modified in 2009).
Note: I am Using XnView MP 0.96 64bits (Mar 20 2020) on Linux Mint (I can't upgrade XnView unless I first upgrade my version of Linux Mint).
Thanks.
