XnView: MP 0.98.1 - 64-bit
OS: Windows 10 - 64-bit

Effect: The effect is retained there.

Open a true color picture.
Open Change color depth
Checked Apply to image
Unchecked Apply to image. The color has not been restored.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.98.2. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
