XnView Software

I swear it used to be numeric somewhere up to 0.97.2, but in newer version(s) (0.98.3 in my case) i noticed it became lexical which is really unfortunate.

This applies to both browser and viewer modes.

I hope this is not intended behavior and can be fixed.

Some examples:

When sorted by date (both for normal and reversed states) it is now with lexical sorting :

When View > Sort by > Date has been selected, do neither Sort by > Name nor Sort by > Name (not numeric) give the sort order you want?

I'm sorry, I can't quickly set up a test to check the effect of these options...

Ah yeah, it was set on numeric. I haven't touched this menu for a very long time so i missed it.

I tested all three of these sorting modes while still Sorted by Date (Modified) and the order of the numbers has not changed. Maybe it just does not work anymore?
It used to work. I would have noticed this a long time ago if it didn't...

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.99.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
