Hi there,

I'm a new user to the software. I'm attempting to import photos from one folder to another using the 'Import and Sort' tool (and in the process, rename and put in the relevant sub-folder). However, when I attempt this I get the message 'Cannot open destination file. Please check permissions.'

I've opened XnView MP as an Administrator, as well as attempted to import to a different folder (ie right onto the Desktop), and still get the same issue.

Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

do you have the rights in destination folder?

Yes, I believe so - I've attached a screenshot of permissions.

Note I'm able to use the 'Batch Rename' command on photos in the same folder, so I do have a workaround in just manually moving the photos using Windows Explorer, then Batch Renaming - so it's not a massive issue.
