"Search similar images" is very broken currently. I will list a few bugs with it.

So, this is my search setting:



Key points:

1. I use similar content search with threshold of 80.
2. I checked "between folders only" and I have two folders. So it should only compare the images from folder 1 and folder2.

Here is the result:



Three problems:

1. it still compares images from the same folder despite I checked "between folders only".
2. it shows a pair that with similarity of only 66, which is lower than my threshold.
3. The "sort by" at the bottom simply does not work. Choose any of them won't actually re-order the table/list.

Hello, I could not see your images with the used settings. Please check it.

Sometimes it is not easy to find the best percentage to get the similar files you want to see.
How many files do you use for searching for duplicates?
Did you get much results?

If you have picture files with different sizes (width and height) you sometimes need to use 65-75% to get a result.

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

About the 3), sort work only on the list of similar not reference, so you need to have result > 3

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.99.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
