A new problem has became apparent concerning keyword tags and the IPTC Editor (I have the latest version)

It did not used to do this.

Without opening the IPTC Editor, without the images ever having been in the IPTC Editor, all keyword tags written into the file will display under the IPTC tab; they will also display in all other programs.

If I perform an operation on more than one image in the IPTC Editor, loading a pre-prepared "Template" and then also performing a few image-specific edits, it will leave my tags intact and they will display as so in other programs.

If I load a single image and do the same, it will strip away all of the tags; it did not use to do this.

I have investigated the options and I cannot see anything there that would cause or prevent this behavior.

I do not remember messing with any settings prior to this happening.

What can I do to make it quit removing my tags ?

Maybe this will work better as attachments.

I have since sent the images as attachments in a reply to the e-mail notice I received about my post getting response; I then downloaded those attachments back to myself and the data was intact; I hope that was the right place to e-mail them to.

i can't reproduce, but please try one thing. Select 2 files, IPTC dialog, in Options, check 'keep original....' & uncheck 'Replace only if...'?

I did that and it still wipes the tags when a single image is processed.

When I process two or more images, it leaves the tags intact.

I am using 64-bit Windows 7 Pro

on original image, when you open IPTC dialog, you see all the tags?

Yes; all tags are there until I "Load" the template and then they disappear.

could you post the template file?

I have tried several different templates and even created new ones using different methods, in an attempt to get this figured out; regardless of the template I choose, the results are the same.

Thanks, in the template dialog, you need to check 'merge datas'
