Xnviewmp crashes on open

Hi, every time I open xnview it immediately closes. I've tried the following:
Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 21H1
Installed on 5/3/2021
OS build 19043.1237
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0
I've been running xnview for YEARS and it just all of a sudden started doing this. Any help is appreciated!

- uninstalling and reinstalling (deleting all associated files)
- installed older version
