How to delete files in the browser on a Mac

Hello! I really need help, I'm frustrated.
Can you please tell me how to delete images in XnView in the browsing mode? I need to work with huge amounts of pictures to sort them out and this software is a perfect decision for that. BUT. Is there a "delete" button or a shortcut to remove photos that I don't want?? I was sooo glad that I've finally found the programme that I was looking for during the days (I'm new to MacOS), but eventually... Can I only do it by clicking on every single picture and choosing the "delete" function from the menu? The "Backspace" button doesn't work for that
If it's so, then I'm gonna die...
