My Mac book is 12.5 and not 13 so 3/4 years old

I tried to download xnview mp onto my Mac book pro 12.5 but it said it need to be newer i.e. Mac book 13. But I thought this programme is for older computers? 3 guys on a zoom meeting on the web suggested getting this programme instead of buying the 'photo stick' I spent 4 hours researching what I should do to get all old, new, current photos together from my Mac book pro 12.5 and all my older windows laptops in loft.
