XnView: MP 0.99.4 - 64-bit
OS: Windows 10 - 64-bit

XnView can't copy files after renaming it.

To reproduce:
1. Open any image file with XnView.
2. Click File - Browse
3. Rename the file (right click - Rename)
4. Copy the file (Ctrl+C or right click - Copy)
5. Open Windows File Explorer
6. Go to different folder location and try to paste (right click - paste)
7. Nothing happens.

Actual behaviour (bug): XnView can't copy the file after renaming it.

Expected behaviour:
In previous XnView version, I can immediately copy files after renaming it. When I open Windows File Explorer and paste it, the file should get copied.

Yes, I can.

I found out that I'm getting different result depending on how I start XnViewMP.

If I open XnViewMP from Start Menu or Desktop, I can do the rename + copy operation just fine.

But if I start XnViewMP by opening an image from Windows File Explorer, the above problem happens.

Here are the screen recording:

1. starting XnViewMP by opening it from desktop



Result: file successfully copied because XnViewMP copied the entire file path correctly.


2. starting XnViewMP by opening an image from Windows File Explorer



Result: unable to copy the file because XnViewMP only copy the file name, without the path.

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.99.5. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
