How do I turn on V-sync?



But seriously, I don't know what else to add. You can see everything in the screenshot.

As you zoom in and drag the image, similar distortions appear. Basically it goes from left to right, decreasing downward. But if you move the image more quickly, the distortion can go straight to the center.

With this kind of problem the image is constantly twitching and jumping around, and it is not pleasant to look at. This is especially noticeable if there is a lot of text in the image.

I have tried changing any settings that may somehow relate to the problem. I also deleted all the files in the settings folder, thus returning it to the default settings. I even downloaded the first portable version of the program from a search engine. I even updated my GTX970 driver but nothing changed.

If I change Layout and change the theme, the problem may disappear for a short time, but I have not been able to get it to work. Maybe the problem disappears only once and by changing the theme, and I have to restart the program to heal it again.

Now, for example, I ran the program twice in a row, switched from a dark theme to a black theme and back to a dark theme, and the problem disappeared for a while. But then the success could not be repeated. As I said, no clear pattern could be identified.

Also, sometimes it helped to change the Layout, but there is no clear pattern.

Unfortunately, I have no way to test the program on another computer, but even so I do not see in my build anything abnormal. Normal PC, the program is installed on an SSD.

Okay, as far as I can tell, the problem is not with the program.

After running some tests in other programs, I found the same problem.

At least I saw the same problem in Pureref and another photo viewer. In the latter, though, the problem occurs only if you use the screen magnifier.

Xnview Classic doesn't have the problem when moving the zoomed image, but it does when zooming normally.

Windows programs do not have the problem. Both the old one from Win7 and the new one from Win10.

Paint and Photoshop work fine too.

In an effort to discover the problem, I went into the Nvidia control panel and this is what I found:

In adjust image settings with preview, when I change the settings, the problem disappears for no length of time. For five seconds, which is enough to notice, rejoice, and not have time to prepare for instant disappointment.

At least if you change from the second item to the first. If you change from the first to the second, then, sometimes, the problem may disappear until the focus switches to another program.

Also when restarting the PC and starting the program quickly, the problem is also gone for a few seconds.

I can assume that the problem disappears for a while until some setting has time to apply. Even though I have tried changing the settings in the control panel, nothing has changed. I will try to look into this more thoroughly later.

Although I don't understand why changing the theme also occasionally solved this problem. With the changed theme, did I have to reapply the settings?

I can't imagine why on a regular video card with standard settings this would be such a problem.

I had this problem before, but I didn't need to zoom in and move the images around, so I somehow didn't pay attention to it. Because of that I know for sure that this problem does not disappear with a clean reinstallation of Windows. So the problem is either at the hardware level, or at the software level, which interacts with the hardware level.

I'm going to try to look something up in the search engine, wading through hundreds of frame break issues in games. I'll try to change every parameter I can get my hands on. Just in case, I'll connect my PC to the TV via HDIM. Putting the PC in a pentagram and performing a satanic ritual. And do the other standard practices. I will write about my impending failure here.

If the frame was torn simply in Windows, it would be easier...
