I am using XnView MP Windows Version 0.99.6 64bits (Dec 10 2021) Libformat version 7.99 and trying to make use of Tag face feature.
Downloaded and extracted face tag addon the addon in D:\tools\XnViewMP\AddOn.
However when I select a photo and try Tag face, nothing happens, meaning does not highlight any faces to name. Do I need to do anything else to make XnView to run face recognition feature?

which image file do you have tried?

tried on .jpg, .jpeg and .ARW (RAW) files....Steps. Select the photo, Menu>Tools>>Tag Face. Wait for few minutes, no success. Tried click Search faces. wait for few minutes, no success. Threshold is 0.5 (default)

Thank You. Tool is able to recognize the faces, (takes few seconds). However, I see following behavior.
Identified two faces, named both (Test Subject 1 and 2), click write. The xmp section just shows one value pair as below. Second face region is nor recorded at all. Is that expected, or may be I am missing something?

Here the same, but previous plugin version don't works at all. Same behavior with 3+ faces.

In the screenshot you can view "up arrow" (with XMP companion file present).
I'd try to delete .\.catalog\Thumb.db and XnView.db and restart XnViewMP: no arrow. :-/
Updata catalog from files -> arrow again!

Delete (attached and little modified) .\icons\info.png -> all is OK.

Sorry, wrong thread (I means overlay icons).

This file come from Internet.
Four faces recognized, four faces tagged (Face A-D).
Write XMP -> Face A only.
Delete catalog.
Reopen XnViewMP and Tools -> Tag Face...
Then, I can view only one Tag (Face A), but the preview (left column) is a thumbnail of _all_ the photo.
Find face again -> MP crashes (dump file in attach)

Two question:
1. (Assuming Faces plugin works well) Where can I find all recognized faces and how do I filter photos?
Categories Filter pane / People is empty.
2. Is is possible to have Tag Face windows bigger? I can resize it, but MP don't remember size.

(Extra) You have Tools -> Tag Face... (menu item) and Tag People (window title). This is different string. The same is better.

Yes dialog should remember his size

In 0.99.6 don't remember size, and left column is not resizeable.

In my opinion Tag Face is better, because not only faces is persons faces. This is my friend's image, try face search:

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.99.7. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
