Folder path is not updated according to image folder

See the attached screenshot:
When I enter a network path on the image page to display images in a folder, the selected folder is not displayed or updated in the folder structure on the left.

If I want to open the network path in the folder structure first, it takes an incredibly long time to open the network folder.
On the other hand, if I enter the path on the image page, the folder opens immediately, but with the described problem that the folder structure is not updated.

So it is either an error
a) That the folder structure is not updated when entering the path on the image page or
b) That the program takes an enormously long time when selecting a network folder due to an error.

by default it's the behavior, you need to edit xnview.ini, and change in [General] section

Then under "General is displayed:

I have tried with CODE and without CODE, but had
but no improvement. The NAS \\DS214 does not show up in the folder tree at all.
Only when I assign a drive letter for the photo folder of the NAS, everything works as it should.

Is the entry correct like this?

If so, nothing has changed in the situation. My NAS \\ds214 is still not shown in the folder structure. It also takes a very long time for the "Network" folder to open at all.
Both are the same with the Windows Explorer though, so is not a bug of XnView!!!
However: Why is the path in the folder structure not updated when I enter the path on the image page? That would also already help a lot.

Under Explorer, I can easily work around the problem by entering the network path in Explorer directly right at the top.

So it would help a lot if you would enable direct path entry in the folder structure.

It's a MS Windows problem (or feature). I have broken my head for a long time with this.
Solution: You can bypass this problem by assigning a drive letter to a shared dir on your NAS. Then, you can view your NAS content and navigate into structure.
