Is it possible to batch rename files using Template and Search & Replace similar to those capabilities in ACDSee? Doug

Thank you for your response. I'll try to make it clearer.
The ACDSee I use has the following rename capabilities:
1.Template
2. Search and Replace.
Does XnView have those two capabilities? Doug

Yes you can do that. (I have used ACDSEE myself) Highlight some test file and hit F2
You can create your own template and it will stay on the dropdown, eventually disappearing if you keep creating templates. You cannot save a renaming template
There is one box for search and replace so if you are replacing several items, you need to keep running it
There is a dropdown arrow that opens all kinds of replaceable parameter items ... MORE than ACDSEE
It does as well as ACDSEE but is a bit different
When I have a BIG or complex renaming job, I use another prog called "renamemaster" which is free and the best out there

Thanks Rick. That puts me another step closer to XnView. I have used ACDSee for years, but in the last few their confusing marketing & lack of response has me wanting for something better. They have also dropped the multi-file Tiff capability that I use quite often.
