Hello,

The category pane is useful to tag images but also to manage the category tree. This last task does not always need selected images to be done and creating new categories without tagging any images can be useful.

So, could you please consider to make the categories pane always active, even when no image is selected ?

Nevertheless it looks like the text field is not available with no image selected.... this field is very useful for managing the categories...

Another detail. Without any selected image, I can check categories. It seems to me that this has no sense.

So please consider , when no image is selected, to keep the text field activated and desactivate the check boxes.

+1 for this. In my opinion, even with no image selected, it should be possible to add/delete categories. If you cannot disable the boxes without removing the ability to add/delete categories, I'd prefer to leave them enabled, even if it makes no sense because there is no picure selected which would get tagged.

There's another issue with the categories panel, I'll open an new tieckt for it: After adding a category it doesn't get sorted alphabetically until you restart the application.
