Add an A/B slider to Compare Tool

Hi,

The build-in Compare Tool is great but often times I need to compare images as stacked images. What works great for this are image comparisons tools that you see more often online than offline, like this one - https://themify.me/demo/themes/addon-ab-image/

It doesn't need to analyze the images. Just a simple slider AND toggle back and forth (full left, full right) shortcut would be nice.
What also would be nice is if the tool could smartly jump between filenames based on 2 files or some naming convention. So that when given the filenames below in a folder, when you press PageUp/Down (Next/Back), it grabs the next set for comparison. (01, 01) (02, 02)

01_before.jpg
01_after.jpg
02_before.jpg
02_after.jpg

Hello,
The new tool A/B is great! However, currently, this tool works only when 2 images have been initially selected. Thus, if I initially compare 3 or 4 images, and then remove or delete 1 or 2 to keep only 2, the slider A/B cannot be activated (at least on windows 10 64 bits). It would be even greater if the tool could be activated whenever 2 images (with the same size) are present, irrespective of the number of images initially compared
Thanks
simon

Is this new slider limited to some kind of files? It works great on .jpg but when I use tiff files the 'A/B' option cannot be selected ('normal' and 'tabs' are working as usual). I'm running 1.5b3, macOS 12.6.7

No such problem for me on win 10. I can use the slider A/B on files of different format, e.g. a .tif vs. a .jpg file. The only (quite obvious) constraints are
1) Only two files can be compared with the slider, where the other modes accept 2 to 4 files
2) the two files must have exactly the same width and height
