Sometimes when i browse photos Viewer mode (full screen) and press ESC button it does close image however i see previous image i had open in Viewer mode open in full screen rather than going back to thumbnails view, and i have to press ESC again and again going trough the images that i had seen previously before finally last one closes and it goes to thumbnail view.


I have tabs disabled.


I don't know how to reproduce exactly, but i have this bug many times.

For this bug to work View > Tab > Show also needs to be unchecked.



1. Open folder with images double click image to open full screen
2. Open double click image to go back to thumbnail view
3. Switch to another folder with images using file explorer on the left side of thumbnail view.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 several times
5. Open another image in full screen now press ESC button and you see instead of opening thumbnails view it opens previously viewed image in full screen mode.

it seems that you have multiple tabs opened, so when you press ESCAPE, you close the current tab

Could you show the tabs header? with your settings, you should have only 1 'edit' tab. When do you have a second 'edit' tab opened??

When tabs header is shown i never get this bug because it never opens more than one tab, bug happens only when tabs header is hidden.

I don't open second tab its a bug in the program.

I can't reproduce, same behavior with or without tabs shown.
You use only 'double click' in edit mode to returns to browser??

Found how to reproduce this bug, you need to use keyboard only, don't touch mouse.

1. Place images in two or more folders at least one picture in every folder, select first folder.
2. Press enter to navigate to folder and select picture with arrow keys, use press enter to open full screen, to exit full screen mode press enter go back.
3. Press backspace to go one directory up and select next folder.

Repeat steps #2 and #3 couple times.

4. Then once in full screen press Esc and you see previously open image open in full screen.

what do you have in settings>Interface>Switching mode?

I have Browser < > Viewer for all three options.

i can't reproduce, i have always only 1 tab

I have set Interface > Tabs > Maximum of view tabs = 1 and restarted XnView MP however when i double click image files in windows explorer it keep opening a new tab for each file i double click.

XnView MP v1.4.4

ESC indeed does close all tabs with images.

Problem is that i set up XnView MP in order to have only one tab. If for instance i disable the view of tabs in View > Tab - Show and program has many tabs open but invisible, would it not affect the overall performance?
