Version 1.0 64bits (Apr 28 2022)

I build the zip file by 7-zip, but it cannot be opened correctly.

There are two different situations:
A.
1. If I put the zip file into a folder with all English chars name:

2. I can open it to see file list in zip, but I can't watch them full screen.


B.
1. If I put the zip file into a folder with not English chars name (I'm under Japan Windows and use a Japanese folder name):

2. I can open it, but can't see the file list:


The same file I can currently open it and watch pictures in it by XnView Classic with archive plugin:

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.01. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

In my report there are two situations. I try XnView MP 1.01 today, situation B is fixed, but situation A is not.
Let me describe situation A again:

I'm in Japan Windows (although I don't think this is the problem because I don't use any Unicode chars in this example).
I have a .zip file:

This .zip file contains one .jpg, you can see the preview is shown correctly:

However, when I select the .jpg file and press enter key, it doesn't be opened in neither viewer mode nor fullscreen mode.
I even tried to change the language setting of XnView MP to English, but it still doesn't work. Note that there is no jpg icon in the left of the .jpg file.

Situation B is an Unicode problem (and you solve it), but situation A seems a different problem of zip archive format supporting. Even the preview works, I think there is a problem about determining the file format because it does not show the jpg icon. The browser maybe wrongly consider it is not an openable file category.

Yes, when the file type icon doesn't appear at the left of filename, pressing enter or double clicking the files in zip do nothing.
When I say icon I mean these:



I remember that XnView Classic has similar issue caused by Unicode problem, I don't know if there is still some kind of Unicode problem here.
And I find another problem, where if there is folder inside zip:



Then the content of this zip cannot be shown in XnView MP:




This problem is also similar to Unicode problem of XnView Classic. However, XnView MP trigger these bugs even in English folder, English filename zip, English filename in the zip.
I use Windows 10 in Japan locale, this is the only thing I can think about this problem, although I don't think this will cause Unicode problem with English strings.

Oh my god, I'm sorry that I saw the new version and install 1.02 before I see this post, now I have no 1.01 for trying this.
It seems that you temporary remove the option to open zip in XnView MP 1.02, right? So I can't do more experiments about this.

It's a bug in 1.02, please download 1.01

OK, I rollback to 1.01, and even record the test process, hope this can help you identify the problem.

In this video, when I click file it is usually a double click.
You can see that I can double click zip to go into it, double click up link to leave zip file, but double click the jpg files in zip can't open it, only select it (which single click does). Preview works well, it just cannot show in fullscreen.

In 'Thumbnails + Labels', do you have the problem too?

That's interesting it works in 'Thumbnails + Labels' but another bug occurs (maybe in fact it is the same bug).
My double click setting is "Browser > Fullscreen > Viewer".
When I double click .jpg in zip, fullscreen works. But when I double click again, it goes to viewer and jumps the error message "File cannot be loaded!"
