If you have folder with many images (so you have long scroll bar in a thumbnail view) and create (or already have) sub-folder where you place few images (from beginning of the folder) then then you go inside sub folder and Copy or Cut image and go one directory up and paste the image, XnView will have Pasted image selected, however view will scroll to the bottom of page.

If you press F5 (refresh), view centers on currently active image (one you just pasted).

Same happens when you copy/paste folders.

Also when i use Tools > Open With and run ExifTool thumbnails view scrolls to bottom of page.

Yes.

i've tried, and focus stays on previous selected file, no scroll

Forgot why I created this topic, however here is my revised feedback.

What's the meaning of this option Tools > Settings > File > File list > New files are added at the end of the list?

When option is checked and i paste image from another folder
1. it does place image at the end of the folder.
2. pasted file (or files) are selected
3. thumbnails view scrolls to the end of the list to show pasted file.
4. After i press F5 image jumps back to default location based on sorting order (View > Sort by - Name).

When option is NOT checked and i paste image from another folder:
1. it does place image at the end of the folder
2. pasted file (or files) are selected
3. thumbnails view does not scroll to the end of the list.
4. After i press F5 image jumps back to default location based on sorting order (View > Sort by - Name).


What i am looking for is when you paste images, they placed to default location according to View > Sort by setting and thumbnails scrolled to this images without need to press F5
