When I copy some new files into the folder I'm viewing, either via explorer or via Xnview MP itself, new files didn't stay at the end. Instead, the folder will automatically reorder itself.

do you have 'Settings>File list>New files are added at the end of the list'?

Which sort criteria / sort order do you use for the browser (View > Sort by > ...)? When I sort by "Name" (which is default) all works fine for me but when I sort by "Exif Date taken" I could reproduce your problem.

It doesn't work for me even with sorting by Name:



Edit: it does work if I use "List" or "Icons" View As mode. It doesn't work with any of Thumbnail modes.

Thank you for this extra info and screen video, fireattack. Which type of view do you use (View > View as > )? On which platform do you use XnView MP? (Font in dialog doesn't look like Windows - that's why I'm asking)?

It is Windows, tested on two machines using 7 and 10 respectively.

As said in the edit above, all the "Thumbnail +X" view modes have this issue.

OK, after taking some time to bisect the config file, I figured out what causes this bug.

I have customFilter=3461, which causes this issue (there are some other values would too, but this is the one I'm using).

Even when I'm not using "Custom" filter (say, I'm using "Images"), it will still cause the issue!

Ok, some furthering testing to give the complete minimum reproducible settings.

1. Set the View as to any choice that is with Thumbnail. I use "Thumbnail + Labels".
2. Go to Settings -> Browser -> File list -> Custom filter -> and deselect "visible" for "all other files":



Now, this bug will always happen.

As mentioned above by helmut, this bug will also happen if you use some sorting method, even if you didn't change custom filter at all.

They mentioned "Exif Date taken", in my testing use "Folder" will also cause the bug.
