Why can I suddenly no longer crop a picture? I used to click the pointer in the picture and then drag it so that I got the shape and size I wanted. Then I just clicked the crop icon. Now the icon is grey and the whole cropping function does not work. Neither does undo/redo or paste.

I tried to include a screenshot but the system said that the attachment quota has been reached.
Yep, and I forgot to mention that it does not work in MP either.

are you able to make a selection?

No, I am not able to make a selection. The mouse pointer does not work on the picture. No selection appears when I try to drag the mouse over the picture. The "Crop" icon is grey without colour and does not work either. I am also not able to undo/redo anything. And because the selection does not work I am also unable to cut/paste.

That was it. Thank you very much. I don't remember having changed anything myself though, but the main thing is that now it works like before.
