Re: Rating/mark be shifted after renaming

Post by alee001 »

After updating to XnView MP Windows Version 1.4.3 64bits (Feb 25 2023) and observing for a period of time, I found that some marks will be removed for no reason, and these removed marks will appear randomly in some folders with more than a thousand pictures.

I don't know if there is a cap on tag memory or batch name changes, but it does happen.

If all tags can have logs to check, I believe that the problem will be found.

Do you have a way to reproduce? By tags you means categories?

Parts of the pictures that were tagged (eg 4 stars) would get unmarked (ie 0 stars) for no apparent reason, making me spend time tagging them again.

So rating. Do you have a way to reproduce?

Categories don't have this problem, just ratings. Because there are too many ratings and folders to record, I can only use filters to check the results.

In addition, if there are too many ratings (more than a thousand), some errors will appear after sorting, that is, pictures that should be 0 stars are marked as 3 stars for no reason.

after a rename? Do you export rating in metadata or only catalog?

Some image ratings still have post-filter errors, which are for the image before the rename, but it didn't update.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

It is possible to add, delete, re-rating and rename the picture relationship many times. I don't know when there will be an error after filtering, but it will return to normal after I correct it.I'll watch and report to you if there are any more problems.
