1.3.1 "Save as" dialog missing

XnView: MP 1.3.1 - 64-bit (Oct 11 2022) Libformat version 7.126
OS: Windows 11 Home - 64-bit - 22000.1098

It's not possible to save an edited photo under a new name.

Effect: it's only possible to save (and overwrite) the original file under the same name.

To reproduce:
1. edit photo
2. click "Save as" button, the same when going over menu "File" --> "Save as"
3. nothing happens... no popup menu and dialog to choose where and under what name the edited file should be saved

Actual behaviour (bug): have to copy the file under new name before editing so that the original file is not overwritten
Expected behaviour: "save as" dialog should pop up

Hello Pierre,

thank you very much for your fast reply! Yes I've switched off all formats under "formats to save" and only the formats "jpg", "png" and "tif" are ticked (but this was not changed since the last versions).

Best regards Claude

Thinking of another thread I read earlier today, possibly not recalled accurately, could you try increasing the number of formats to at east five or six, and then text again? Unless that is where you started!

There are two associated jpg types. If you only have "JPEG / JFIF" selected you won't get the dialog. Select "Geutzli JPEG" and you'll get the dialog. I have no idea what the difference is.

That I believe is the bug identified above which will be fixed in the next release...

...I have no idea what the difference is.
Geutzli JPEG was designed to produce smaller file sizes for web use, where image sizes are normally quite small, it should not be used for larger images as processing soon becomes extremely slow... :(

Ticking "Guetzli ..." brings back the dialogue but then it's only possible to save under this format and this lasts extremely long... (I've killed the process via task manager)

Ticking some more formats (and remove "Guetzli..."), e.g. "Jeffs Image format", "Jpeg2000" "bmp" brings back the dialogue too and it's possible to save as "JPG - JPEG" - so this works fine as workaround! :D

Thank you very much for your help and this great program I really love.
