Cache all images at once

I am trying to view a huge folder that contains more than 280000 jpg images. Is it possible to cache all image thumbs by opening the folder instead loading while scrolling. Many images are useless, and waiting until the next are shown is annoying. loading all thumbs by opening the folder would speed up the searching process and make it more agreeable. I know when opening a folder the loading will go much slower, especially with so many files, but that is not a problem.

Have you tried Settings->Thumbnail->Create thumbnails for whole folder ?

I have that set BUT...
I often don't see thumbnails on large folders. In my case it is a refresh issue and scrolling up and down with the mouse starts showing the thumbnails.
It is a lot better since I upgraded my computer but the behavior is still there. For me it is a non-issue
