XnView Software

Hi,

I searched the Web and the forum, but couldn't find any solution.

On my laptop (windows 10), in the file manager, when the files are displayed in "Details" mode, the icons of the .ico files display the picture corresponding to each .ico file. (left part of my joint picture.)
My default application to display image files in Windows 10 is :
XnView Classic for Windows Version 251.1 (Sep 6 2022)
On my desktop computer (windows 10 too), in the file manager, when the files are displayed in "Details" mode, the icons of the .ico files display the XnView logo. (2 right parts of my joint picture.)
It happens whether I set up both of these applications as default applications to display image files :
XnView MP Windows Version 1.01 64bits (Aug 8 2022) (middle part of my joint picture.)
XnView Classic for Windows Version 251.1 (Sep 6 2022) (so, the same as on my laptop) (right part of my joint picture.)
I would like the .ico files displayed like on my laptop.

Please note that the
Options > View > Always show icons, never thumbnails
option is unchecked on both systems (laptop and desktop).

Could somebody tell me where the problem comes from?
Does it come from XnView? Another setting elsewhere?

Yes, I think so : Isn't it good? Should I do another way?

if you remove it, no more problem? Same thing with XnView MP?

Sorry for me reply delay.

The problem indeed appears when XnView (classic or MP) are set as default application to open the .ico files.
When I uninstalled them, the .ico files were listed in the explorer showing their content.

I noticed that on my laptop, where the .ico files are listed in the explorer showing the icons' content picture, the default application to open .ico files was Paint. As soon as I set XnView classic as the default application, the icons' pictures are all replaced in the explorer by the XnView icon.

It would be nice to be able to set XnView to avoid this kind of behavior.
