XnView MP Windows
Version 1.0 64bits (Apr 28 2022)

Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 21H2
Betriebssystembuild 19044.2251

XnView changes the file names in the batch rename function.
The problem has been occurring for several years.
However, I have never been able to determine the exact cause until now.
But this time I was able to trace it exactly.

I had a folder with 182 photos/files.
I renamed the files, so that the filename is followed by a suffix (in my case: "Auswahl für Christopher"). Cf. screenshot.
After renaming, XnView has swapped the filenames

From IMG_2927 to IMG_3065 everything was correct,
also the photo IMG_3069 was still correctly renamed to "IMG_3069 Auswahl für Christopher,
but the photo IMG_E3069 was renamed to "IMG_3072 Auswahl für Christopher,
IMG_3072 has been renamed to "IMG_3074 Auswahl für Christopher",
IMG_3074 has been renamed to "IMG_3077 Auswahl für Christopher",
...
IMG_3777 has been renamed to "IMG_3982 Auswahl für Christopher",
...
IMG_3789 has been renamed to "IMG_3791 Auswahl für Christopher".

IMG_3791 became "IMG_E3069 Auswahl für Christopher"!

This is a very annoying error, because the original file name is partly not reconstructable. Sometimes the file name contains important information which is lost after the wrong renaming.

I have installed the latest version
and then tested it four times.
The error did not occur again.
Hopefully it will not occur again in the future.
With the best regards

I've got some errors in old versions (V0.9x) when changing values or parameters many times before applying rename....
To fix them, I cleaned all fields, closed the window, and set again my parameters.
