Set stadard paper size/format for Scan dialogue

Hello everybody,
when I open the scan dialoge in XnView Classic, the paper size is set as letter and I cannot change it in the dialogue. The pull down menu is can not be operated.
I also cannot find the place in the general program settings, where the standard paper size and format can be changed. Can anyone help me with this?
