Pasting images into image search engines

Does anyone know why image search engines like Google or Yandex won't let me paste images copied to the clipboard by XnView? Yandex shows "Incorrect format", google "No file found in request."
However, images copied with other programs like IrfanView or Windows Paint are accepted without a problem.
