In both XnView's file browser and if you open an image file directly from the Linux desktop into XnView's image viewer, if the image in question lacks a file extension, then "Properties" will not work at all whether accessed through the "Edit" or "Image" menus or via a toolbar button.

Interestingly, if you first open XnView's file browser and open the offending image through that, then "Properties" will actually work.

(by the way, what's the file size limit for attachments on this forum? I was thinking about recording and posting a video of the issue from a live Linux ISO since that makes it super-easy to reproduce any issues and the like, and I'd rather not upload the video to an external site if I don't need to)

The current forum attachment file size limit remains 2MiB as far as I know, files with formats other than JPEG, PNG and PDF (I'm not sure whether there are any others?) must be placed in a ZIP or similar archive.
