browser - preview is delayed by one file

XnView MP 1.4.3 64bits
Windows11 64bit (22H2), display resolution 3840x2160, win scaling 150%
Browser
Preview is delayed by one file.
Not sure if it is a bug or feature (eg to reduce disk reads).
To reproduce:
1. click on empty space, start selecting and expand selection over 2nd file
preview shows 1st file (see picture)
2. expand selection to the 3rd file
preview shows 2nd file
No such issue when selecting via shift or ctrl + clicking on each file
