I want to use JPEG file to use as thumbnail for RAW file (Sony ARW) is this possible right now, how to make it work?

If i place two files in same folder

_DSC0001.ARW
_DSC0001.JPG

how to make XnView MP read external JPEG to generate thumbnails?

Then i can specify JPG as companion file for ARW in settings and hide it.

Use case scenario would be RAW photo file hat is heavily modified using Photoshop - Adobe Camera Raw plugin without converting to other formats. all settings about changes in color and lighting are inside companion *.XMP file, now i'd like to show actual preview of changes been made to the image in XnView MP thumbnail, easiest way is to generate JPEG and put it alongside the RAW file.

reside in same folder:
_0000100.ARW
_0000100.XMP
_0000100.JPG

From which XMP and JPG are hidden companion files.
