XnViewMP 1.4.5 64bit
Windows11 (22H2), display resolution 3840x2160, win scaling 150%

Draw - eyedropper
does not pic correct color on 1-8bit images

1.4.0 - draw - transparent figure's backgound visible through border

1.4.5 - draw - undo/redo buttons state (1.5.0)
1.4.5 - draw - text - text jumps bottom-right on cursor move (1.5.0)
1.4.5 - draw - eyedropper - does not pic correct color on 1-8bit image (1.5.0) (current post)
1.4.5 - draw - watermark - tool icon stays highlighted (1.5.0)

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.5.0 beta. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

it picks correct color, but only at 100% win scale, eg at 150% its picks wrong color
