create Automatic Level & Automatic Contrast Buttons

i love the Automatic Level & Automatic Contrast edit options.

unfortunately they are available only from the menu (Image -> Map -> Automatic Level & Automatic Contrast) and they are a little unconfortable to reach.

i'd like very much to have them also as buttons to put in the toolbar just like the Red Eye correction.

would you please create those 2 buttons in the next release?

In XnView 1.82 Beta's they are available from the "Adjust Brightness" dropdown list on the toolbar.

that's true i didn't notice that.

anyway they are not still an independent button... they are still a menu choice.

this means if i wanna use them i have to click the dropdown list and then scroll to select them.

i think an independent button would be much more easy and convenient to use: just one click and you are done.

i think it's a reasonable request and it would be a nice improvement for the image editor toolbar.

we already have great buttons like RedEye, Rotate, Crop etc.

i think Auto level and Auto Contrast buttons would be great additions

(SIGH…)

thank you clo but i'm afraid i didn't understand at all... let see...

1. you said that the XnView authors have designed only 33 icons and adding a 34th icon is not so easy and would create troubles. right?

2. may i create the Auto level button by myself using the scheme provided at this URL: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/charries/xnv/skins.html#ske ?

Nothing to add

:) Hi again!
1. you said that the XnView authors have designed only 33 icons and adding a 34th icon is not so easy and would create troubles. right?
- Only the Author is able to add a button and its icon. And that binds to modify all skins. Moreover, a new "version-flag" must be coded too for an eventual new skin-set.

- Unfortunately, you can't do this by yourself. The number of icons matches with the corresponding internal commands, and that amount is limited to 33 by design currently, and hard-coded such as.
- The browser small tool-bar has just been enlarged up to nine icons since the ß-3 on tests actually, and it's impossible to get more or less.
This is a frozen system :|

- The page I made on my Manual is only an information in order to create customized skins, but according to the current tool-bars design…
- Since the new version is still in the beta-phase, I didn't update the online page yet about the ninth browser-icon, but it's ready @ home ;)

- A change of such a frozen system seems needed more and more, although it's not a high priority for Pierre…
- Just my opinion, indeed.

ok. i see. adding a new button looks harden than it seems.

but what about an hotkey? like "Ctrl + L" or "Ctrl + N" ....

i would be happy to have an hotkey for Auto Level and Auto Contrast instead of a button.

assign an hotkey to those edit function should be easier. isn't it?

Easier, but not for you !

:) Indeed, it's easier for the Author (again…)

- We have not any built-in function or plugin-utility able to create¦remap shortcuts in XnView… although it could be useful for many users (not me, I don't use the keys a lot because some physical problems…)

customizable hotkeys would be great but i don't wanna ask too much to the authors.

i think that just adding a few new ones could be easy for them and useful for us.

indeed, there are still many unused key combinations that could be used for Auto Level and Auto Contrast
