B3: JP2000 file displayed black

When viewing Drahken's desktop http://drahken.t35.com/noname00.jp2 using XnView 1.82 B3 and JPG2000 plug-in (xjp2.dll), a pitch-black image is displayed, only.

Either Drahken's image is buggy, or something with the JPG2000 plug-in is wrong. Or did I miss anything?

Same thing here... :(
(and I don't have another program to check that .jp2)

Strange, it works perfectly for me in both 1.7 and 1.82b3.
The version of xjp2.dll I have with 1.82b3 is 1.82.0.0/1.82b1, both work fine.

EDIT:

I made some more copies of the image using various programs (including both the jasper and luratech options in xnview), all using approximately the same quality settings:
http://drahken.t35.com/noname00-2.jp2
http://drahken.t35.com/noname00-3.jp2
http://drahken.t35.com/noname00-4.jp2
http://drahken.t35.com/noname00-5.jp2
http://drahken.t35.com/noname00-6.jp2
http://drahken.t35.com/noname00-7.jp2

See if you have the same problems with any of those ones.
It's really strange that it works fine in both versions of xnview that i have installed, yet doesn't work for at least 3 other people using xnview.

Ditto...

:) Hello !

- Same mess here with ß-3, all is blaaaacckkk !

- Worse : with 1.80.3, I get <Unknown format> in French.
- Both versions have the <xjp2.dll> in each <Plugins> sub-dir… They are very different versions, though having the same size (I compared the contents quickly in Total Commander)

Have you tried any of the other ones I just posted above?

I found I also had 1.80.1 and 1.82alpha floating around and tried it with them. Againb, it worked perfectly.

The new ones all work for me. The first one is all dark.

Try these:
http://drahken.t35.com/noname00-A.jp2
http://drahken.t35.com/noname00-B.jp2
A is saved with the same prog and settings as the original pic (on the off chance that something went screwey when I saved it originally).
B is saved with the same prog, but different compression settings.

Pierre- Does the JP2 plugin make use of any external files or software? Direct-x perhaps? That's the only reason I can think of why several versions of xnview and the plugin would work perfectly for me, but not work at all for other people.

All files that Drahken posted open with no problems in PhotoImpact.

:( Same here for the new …A & …B :

- With 1.80.3, format "not determined",
- With ß-3, all is black
Note : 16 BPP screen-display here, 32 BPP causes problems in XnView…

Umm... I have my display set for 32bit color, but don't have any problems with xnview. What kind of problems are you having?

[OT 32 BPP issues here]

:) It's a bit OT…
Yesterday, I could not toggle to full screen with 32 BPP, moreover I got a strange "big-pen" cursor instead the ususal "pipette" I have normally… - Pressing F11 did nothing, except this oddness…
- I reset 16 BPP, and all came back to normal.
- I had set 32 BPP only to test the "Drop Shadow" issue (not really solved for tiny images, BTW)

Shame on us---

:) I tested the three images:

noname00.jp2
noname00-A.jp2
noname00-B.jp2
with “Imagine” (as standalone and as a plugin for Total Commander «Lister»)

Image Shame on Us !
ALL work fine… as well with the standalone programme as in TC Lister-viewer using the Imagine plugin DLL…
- I noticed that this programme is using 2 small DLLs as addons for this(these) format(s) :
J2K.DLL >> 39 KB
JBIG.DLL >> 16 KB
Really tiny…

Pierre, Help !

 Kind regards,
Claude
Clo
{ Aside : Thanks to Paul "Ouistiti" who thought to this test ! I no longer use "Imagine" by now under XP-Pro… }

Indeed, I confirm, I performed the same tests too with "Imagine", and got the same results : that works perfectly !
The problem must be solved in XnView, I guess…

Image Ir******* v3.9.8 and ACDSee v8.0.41 both work without probleme !
