Problems with markin Images

Hi
I like xnview (MP) a lot. But i have some problems with mark/tag images. When i use ctrl + T or ctrl + 1 everything works fine but when i change a directory everything is lost.
I then installed xnview in parallel. Unfortunately, tagging with shortcuts doesn't even work there.
The idea is to use xnview (MP) as a fast viewer with the possibility to sort and tag large amounts of photos.
Unfortunately I'm failing at this request at the moment.
