How to integrate XnViewMP with ART & Darktable?

I use as the DAM and want to do the processing sometimes with darktable and other times with ART.

Right-click a photo -> Open with -> Configure programs... Set as many raw editors as you wish. If I understand your needs correctly.

Yes and no.

* ART uses arp sidecars, so that works
* Darktable like xnviewmp uses xmp sidecars and the things don't seem to read each other or I'm doing something wrong but then I don't know what.

@artsi did you find a solution to this?

I am relatively new to both tools but similar to you I wanted to use XnView MP for File Management (batch renames moving files) and darktable for the RAW processing/editing however if I give a rating in darktable (.xmp file) it is not replicated and updated within XnView and vice versa.

If I click on the properties tag it shows the XnView MP rating of (3) but then if I select the XMP tab it shows the 5 rating that was set within darktable.

Can anyone assist, it seems a similar issue to what artsi was mentioning too?
