It's related to 'Settings>View>Misc - two pass rendering'P.S. Even JPEG files are noticeably slower loading in 1.5.0 B2 compared to v1.4.5
It was set to Full-Size, which is default setting i believe. Changing to Embedded fixed EXTREME LAG issue for RAW's.

It has to demosaic / develop the RAW file before it can render it which takes some compute power.
So either use half-size if you really want to view the RAW image (without any curves applied will look low in contrast and saturation) or embedded to see how it looks with your camera's default JPEG processing.
