XnView Software

First of all I just want to say XnView MP is quite useful. While I already have photoshop, this is still a handy tool.

The main issue is when saving or converting a photo to ".jpg" format after making edit or just trying to convert from another format to jpg. It takes a very very long time. Sometimes it runs endlessly and I have to End Task in Task Manager, and I have a super fast computer. This is not the case with all file formats but mainly, jpg. And this has been the case since day one as I've been. Using this software for about a year.

Would welcome any suggestions to fix this problem.

Are you using XnView MP or XnView Classic, as indicated by version 2.51.4 in the post title?

And to be clear, you are not saving to JPEG Guetzli are you, which is impractically slow when used on other than small images?

cday you are right! User 'Parham' use the guetzli jpeg encoder for saving and XnviewMP!

This issue arises periodically, I have probably already suggested a pop-up warning, but my suggestions aren't always implemented immediately!

I never knew the difference between this JPEG Guetzli and JPEG/JIFF.

So is it not recommended to save using "JPEG Guetzli"?

Guetzli was introduced to further reduce the size of images on web pages which were already quite small, it is unsuitable for larger images as the increased conversion time soon makes it's use impractical.
