Options tab Mode drop-down makes no difference regardless of selection, it always writes to file not .xmp sidecar.

Do you check in IPTC or XMP metadata? IPTC can't be readed on RAW files

What do you mean?

As i said it XnViewMP writes to .arw file (not .xmp sidecar) and it writes and reads most of the tags except ones marked with red.

Ok for 'supplemental categories'... See issue for current status and some details.

But it's ok for the other fields

Ah you mean Information panel's IPTC tab, i was not aware of it's existence until you showed it to me in screenshot.

(Was checking what IPTC metadata is written by going back to Metadata > Edit IPTC (Ctrl+I) window and by extracting tags from the raw file itself.)

Yes this 3 fields out of four do show in Information panel, however when go back to Edit IPTC tab they are not populated again, just blank spaces.

Field "supplemental categories" field is still missing in Information panel and inside file's IPTC data.

And selecting XMP option is ignored it always write to .arw file directly

It works if primary mode is IIPTC-IIM, and not XMP
