1.6.1: XnViewMP does not create more than 2-3 .xmp sidecar files

XnViewMP stops creating XMP sidecar files after 2-3 .xmp files.
Configuration is: Create XMP MetaData sidecar files. I have a folder with many RAW files. I mark multiple RAW files (e.g. all with with CTRL-A), then edit XMP data, then "Write in all files" creates only 2-3 (!) xmp sidecar files. Dialog window shown with progress bar hangs, pressing the "Abort" button does ... nothing. Have to end XnView MP with task manager.
Effect can be easily reproduced.

Hello Pierre.
I'm not able to upload the RAW files, I tried it with "Attachments". I have NEF files (RAW files from Nikon Camera).

But let me explain the bug in more details:
1. I have a folder with many RAW files (NEF files)
2. I mark all with CTRL-A. All RAW files are marked.
3. Right click on the first RAW file, in the context menu select "Metadata", then "XMP Edit"
4. "XMP Edit" dialog screen opens, I edit some settings
5. Click "Write in all files", small dialog window apperares with the progress bar.
6. THEN: creating the *.xmp stops after 2 or 3 or 4 files. Pressing "Abort" does nothing. XnViewMP hangs. XnViewMP has to be ended with the Windows task manager.
Pls regard my screenshots in the first post.

Is there another way to upload RAW (NEF) photo files? Files are nearly 60MB per file.
BR
Frank

When you select all files (Ctrl A) , are you sure that only raw files are selected (no video, no folder ...) ?
or
Perhaps one of the files is corrupted ? : can you seleect the last 5 or 10 files and try again ?

Hi michel038.
No. Filter is active on folder layer: only pictures.
Files are not corrupt. I can work with them in DxO or ACDSee or Affinity Photo.
Tested now marking the last 5 files (in a folder with 14 RAW files), XnViewMP only creates 3 (!) .xmp files, but not the last 2. Then XnView MP hangs, have to end XnView MP with Windows task manager.
By the way: I tested it on 3 different Windows systems: 2xWin10, 1xWin11. Same behaviour.
Does XnView MP has a problem with the size of the RAW pictures? These are 55-60MB.

are you able to reproduce if you copy one RAW multiples times into a folder, and edit xmp?

Hi.
Sure. Same effect.
I took 1 photo, copied it 9 times = 10 RAW files. Editing XMP data and "Writing in all files".
Pls regard screenshots. XnView MP hangs.

Hi.
QuickCheck with new version 1.6.2: *.xmp sidecar files will now be created for all files. GREAT Job.
Thanks Pierre and Team.

Strange, nothing has been changed for this problem...
