Multiple Issues Starting from Version 1.6.1

Hello! Since version 1.6.1, I have been having issues with folders containing videos. Initially, XnView would freeze when generating thumbnails upon entering a folder with videos. I solved this in a strange way. In the file filter, I removed the mention of mkv, and the freezing stopped, though the mkv files still appear in the file list (I don't understand this, I suspect I'm missing something).
Now, what I've noticed is that if I'm viewing a video and scroll to move to another one, I reach some videos where the program freezes again, and I have to exit abruptly.
Another problem I have is that now it's impossible for me to open cbr, cbz, or zip files with my associated program; instead, they open as if they were folders, and I can't seem to change this behavior.
