Suggestion

• UI text
  - change color from White to any Gray between
  #C0C0C0 rgb(192,192,192) HTML Silver
  #DCDCDC rgb(220, 220, 220) Gainsboro gray

• selection
  - text should remain the same color (or change to white), but not change to black

• list
  - striped list is too contrast, better change bright color to darker one, eg #202020 rgb(32,32,32)

It depends on the background color of the selected line but if it provides the necessary contrast then it is better. Also changing the text color to the complementary color of the unselected text is the standard. See below in Word:
