It's been a few months since I last used this face tag import function.

I use the face tag add-on to change the names of some people, and it works fine, the XMP tags are correctly updated, but the catalog doesn't update.

I've tried "View, update catalog from files" or deleting and importing the folder in "Settings > Catalog", that doesn't work either, the face tag import doesn't work any more.
Windows7 XnViewMP 1.6...

Way to reproduce :
set "settings > Metadata > Import XMP Face tag" on
Use face tag add-on on any jpg , add a region and / or a name , confirm.
Check xmp fields in info pane, all is ok
See catalog filter, this person doesn't exist in the persons filter

I tested version 1.4.3, and it works ...

right perhaps a , 'import XMP keywords' imports face tag too

Thanks to your detailed description I can reproduce the problem.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.7.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
