1.6.3: Can't view JPEG XL files under Linux

Hello!
First of all, thank you for this wonderful software!
I am currently converting my entire photo library to JPEG XL in order to save space. I am, however, having trouble viewing those files in XnView MP 1.6.3 (Linux).
I tried converting a sample JPEG from WikiMedia using different versions of libjxl. None of them are viewable for me. You find them linked below
Is support for JPEG XL lacking under Linux or am I doing something wrong? I am finding conflicting information. This thread for example seems to indicate it should be working.
